Claim
Animals (and the environment in general) will adapt to any changes in climate.
Facts
“Because human-caused climate change is happening so rapidly, species simply don’t have time to adapt. Frogs tell the story best: With their semi-permeable skin, unprotected eggs, and reliance on external temperatures to regulate their own, they are often among the first species to die off when ecosystems tip out of balance—and they’re dying off in droves.” -Rainforest Alliance
Opinion
Ecosystems are massively complex. The current rate of temperature increase is 20 times greater than warming trends seen historically over the last 500,000 years. As seen with frogs, the arctic fox, and many other species, this change rate is beyond the adaptability of many individual species and our overall ecosystems.
Assessment
